September 8: A Very Special Day Indeed

September 8 was Mama Mary’s birthday and so it was a very fitting day to celebrate IHMP’s Inauguration Mass for its 50th anniversary next year, 2019.  In line with these, a Living Rosary was held and the IHMP Marian Exhibit was opened to honor our Blessed Mother.

More than 150 people gathered to form part of the Living Rosary at 5 o’clock in the afternoon.  As the rosary was being prayed, the lights were out and each person serving as a rosary bead held a candle.  It was a very participative and solemn way of praying the rosary!  We have Ligaya Saret, the different ministries and organizations of IHMP to be thankful for.

At 6 pm, Fr. Nick and Fr. Martin concelebrated the Inauguration Mass which served as the beginning of a yearlong festivity.  It was a very touching celebration since the church was overflowing with parishioners who responded to the invitation of the said celebration being a milestone for each of us whose spiritual life is being nurtured by the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.  The procession of offerors seemed like it was endless with many parishioners giving their support for our upcoming 50th anniversary activities.  The offerors of the bread and wine were Dennis and Analyn Carandang.

Last but definitely not the least, the IHMP Marian Exhibit which will run from September 8 to 16, 2018 was blessed and opened.  The exhibit aims to make us aware of some of the titles given to our Blessed Mother such as Our Lady of La Leche, Mother of Silent Waiting and Our Lady of Undoer of Knots among others.  It will also serve to encourage devotion to Mama Mary thus making us feel our closeness to her and instilling in us a deeper faith in our Lord Jesus.
