Empowering More Men to Serve God

The Knights of Columbus, Claret Council is the newest organization in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. And with the blessing of the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Lito Ancla, CMF, the organization is expected to empower more men to serve God and the community.
Induction of the Charter Officers
The KofC Claret Council started off as a mere vision to increase the participation of the men of the community. Furthermore, having the core values of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism, the Knights of Columbus is an ideal organization for the task. With the help of the Sta. Maria della Strada Council, men from different walks of life joined the budding organization. The new council is proud to have Fr. Lito Ancla as their Council Chaplain and Fr. Joy Sebastian as their Council Advocate. And on March 12, 2017, the charter officers of the new Claret Council were inducted.
KofC Claret Council Hosted the Annual Walk for Life
Not more than a week from the officer’s induction, the Claret Council hosted the KofC’s annual walk for Life. This was no easy feat for a fledgling council since approximately 4,000 people participated the event. But Grand Knight Robert Albrecht Jr. along with Grand Knight Rodolfo Barbero of Sta. Maria della Strada worked closely with District Deputy Marlon Mañaol. The collaboration made the event triumphant.
Looking Ahead
The Claret Council endeavors to establish itself as an integral part of the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC) of IHMP. By actively participating in IHMP’s undertakings, the council seeks to encourage more men to serve God and the community. Various projects are lined up to for the community like health and wellness, youth development, family enrichment and evangelization. Moreover, by working closely with other organizations more community members can benefit and more lives can be touched.
The Claret Council continues to look for men who are willing to serve God and the community. As such, they’ve launched their facebook page: KofC Claret Council to share information about the council and their activities. With the Knights of Columbus Claret Council in the parish, more men are empowered to serve God.
