Installation of New Knights of Columbus Officers

By: JP Carlos

The Knights of Columbus Claret Council 16704 sworn in its new officers last August 27, 2017 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. The fraternal mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Martin at 9:00 AM. After the mass, the installation ceremony took place at the Bulwagan Claret. The guest of honor was SK Marlon Mañaol, the council’s District Deputy. Present in the installation were the officers’ wives and family. Likewise, dignitaries from other KofC councils and the District Office were also there.

The Grand Knight (GK) for Columbian Year 2017-2018 is SK Angelo Thomas “Athom” Almazan. In his address as the newly elected Grand Knight he pointed at the direction of KofC Claret Council. And the path is evangelization. Spreading the word is an integral duty of every KofC member and every Catholic person. Following the direction of the fraternal order, the Claret Council will implement activities that promote the building and strengthening of the church starting at home. Moreover, GK Athom has his heart set in helping IHMP in its projects.

With their hearts fueled by the desire to reach out and spread the Good News we can expect great works from the Knights of Columbus in IHMP. Pope John Paul II once said that the Knights of Columbus is the right hand of the Catholic Church. As such, the council invites men from the parish to become part of this special distinction set by the Vicar of Christ. KofC Claret Council is eager to welcome men and their families to serve God and the  community.
