The IHMP ushered in the Lenten Season by celebrating Ash Wednesday with changes made in consideration of the current pandemic. Imposition of ashes was administered through sprinkling on the head in contrast to the more common practice of imposition on the forehead. For those who attended Mass online, the imposition was done by the head of the household simultaneous with that in church.
The Gospel inspired us to accept Pope Francis’ challenge to fast from hurting words, sadness, anger, pessimism, worries, complaints, pressures, bitterness, selfishness, and grudges. Let us altogether die from sin and return back to God. Furthermore, may this day remind us to enrich our prayer life, be silent, and listen.
