CWL Sponsors Food & Beverage Services

The Catholic Women’s League will sponsor a Food and Beverage Services Workshop, a TESDA Accredited Vocational Training Course which will be conducted by the Social Services Development Department of Quezon City Hall. This livelihood program will run for three (3) months from April to June 2017. Orientation was on March 30, 2017. Classes will start on April 18, 2017, Tuesday to Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. Target participants are ages 18 to 26 years old as this age group is accepted for On-the-Job-training. Everyone are welcome to join the program.

This NC 2 course will include the following topics: a.) Personality Development; b.) napkin folding; c.) table skirting; d.) table setting; e.) food services; f.) food safety and handling; and g.) bartending, optional. Participants are required to wear the proper attire which will be discussed by their trainor.

Past activities of the CWL for the first quarter of 2017 were the following: Valentines Fun Day on February 12, Flower Arrangement Seminar on March 8 and a Pilgrimage/Summer Outing to churches in Lipa City (San Sebastian Cathedral, Our Lady of Mediatrix of all Graces and Our Lady of Mount Carmel) and Shrine of Padre Pio, Sto. Tomas, Batangas last March 20 where we also had lunch at the Pamana Gardenville, Bay, Laguna where we served native dishes of Laguna to our hearts delight.

Finally, last March 27, we had a Leadership Formation Seminar to prepare the incumbent officers for greater responsibilities in accordance to CWL motto: Charity, Work and Loyalty. This seminar was conducted by Sis. Nitz Naniong of CWL National Board and our Spiritual Director, Fr. Lito Ancla.

Presently we are now busy developing the internal policies and guidelines for the efficient usage of our funds. By : Dollen P. Magnaye
